It’s peaceful here…

Another Saturday, another short film. This time it’s Silent City, a (short) epic war movie directed by Ruairí Robinson.

Robinson also directed the Oscar nominated Fifty PerCent Grey. Silent City features Don Wycherley and Cillian Murphy and is produced by Nick Ryan (who has been hailed in previous dispatches on this blog). Well worth 7 odd minutes of your time.

Silent City features some stunning FX & visuals and there is an interesting “making of” vid here which gives a view on how some of the imagery was created/realised. Worth a look for those interested in such technical matters.

If you have a spare ten minutes you could do a lot worse than have a look at A Lonely Sky. It’s a fine Irish short film created by Nick Ryan. It’s beautifully made, the cinematography by James Mather is stunning, and the tone and feel are spot on. I’m sure there must be 6-picture-deals being penned on the back of it?
